DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES (1962)

Synopsis:

Ad executive Jack Lemmon and his wife Lee Remick decline ungracefully together to the inevitable end of their relationship as alcohol finally drives it entirely.  This decline is all the more bittersweet and melancholy due to the time and attention given in the movie to delineating and establishing the characters and their emotional connection.  Interestingly, prior to this movie, the story was a television play.
