 POLLOCK (2000) --Mike M., submitter

Synopsis:

Ed Harris is great in a passionate portrayal of Jackson Pollock: obsessed, depressive, driven, alcoholic except for a few too-brief respites.  Among other things, this intense film identifies how addiction often works for creative people, when addiction seems to be their only hiding place from the things pursuing them.  This biography has a familiar and true ring.  Although Pollock’s life ultimately ended in a tragic death, this examination of that life has a welcome honesty and directness.
