WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN (1994) -- J.J. Hitt, submitter

Synopsis:

This could have been a fairly pedestrian piece about having it, losing it, and getting it back again.  Instead, the focus is on the marriage, family, and relationship between Alice (Meg Ryan) and husband Michael (Andy Garcia).  Script co-written by Al Franken, of Saturday Night Live Stuart Smalley fame.  Franken has obviously mined a rich vein of recovery material, not all of which will be familiar.
