Valentine's Day
   Scalloped Oysters

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pint select or large oysters
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup light cream (20%)
  • 3 cups soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons celery salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Preparation :

  1. Heat Oven to 375%.  Grease Baking Dish 11 x 7 x 2.
  2. Arrange oysters (with liquid) in baking dish.  Pour about half the cream over oysters.
  3. Combine bread crumbs, butter, seasonings; sprinkle over oysters.
  4. Pour remaining cream over  ingredients (liquid should come about 3/4 of the way up on oysters).  If desired, sprinkle with paprika.

Bake uncovered 30 to 40 minutes
