The Courtesy of a Reply from a Drug Court CoordinatorMore than nine months ago the Service Center sent a packet of LifeRing literature to a leading judge in the Drug Court association. (See "Approaching the Drug Courts for Referrals," June 2000.) We had no reply whatsoever. All the greater the pleasure to receive a prompt letter of acknowledgement this week from the Drug Court coordinator in San Francisco to a LifeRing literature packet and cover letter sent to him recently. The packet included the new Workbook, the Presenting book, the Keepers book, and the Handbook, along with one each of our brochures. A PDF copy of the cover letter is attached, click. The Drug Court coordinator's letter says that "I am very open to clients' attending meetings that are both supportive and helpful to them. For some clients those goals may be met through LifeRing." This is a less than overflowing endorsement, but at least it signifies that we are now on the man's radar screen. That's definitely progress. A PDF copy of the reply is attached; click. I am grateful to Anthony F. of San Francisco for forwarding this individual's name and address to me as a person who should receive the LifeRing literature kit. -- Marty N. 3/12/01 |
