| LifeRing Inc. Receives First Corporate Contribution Bill S. of Oakland CA brought in LifeRing's first corporate contribution this week: a check for $100 made out to LifeRing Inc. from his employer. With this donation, Environmental Compliance and Remediation Inc. of Walnut Creek moves to the head of what hopefully will become a longer list of corporate donors. Like other recovery organizations, LifeRing makes a positive contribution to the community by helping people get back to sober, productive lives. Employers benefit financially when a valued employee overcomes a chemical dependency problem and returns to full working productivity. It's not unreasonable to ask employers to make a financial contribution to an organization that helps make these good results possible -- especially when it's tax-deductible. LifeRing Inc. is a nonprofit charitable corporation and all contributions are tax-deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Act. Thanks to the Internet, individuals and businesses who want to donate to LifeRing don't even have to write checks. They can also donate to LifeRing online through www.helping.org, a web site set up by media giant AOL to match qualifying charities with donors. Click here to go to the LifeRing page on helping.org. Congratulations and thank you, pioneer fundraiser Bill S., for priming the pump.
