Six Present LifeRing to Oakland Kaiser Chemical Dependency Recovery Patients

Every eight weeks, LifeRing makes a presentation to the Education Program of the Chemical Dependency Recovery Program of the Kaiser Permanente HMO in Oakland, CA.  On February 27, we had a bunch of us! Marty N., Syl S., Bill S., Chet G, Bettye D., and myself, Robbin L. spoke briefly on how we came to Kaiser and LifeRing and answered questions from the group of approximately 30 CDRP participants.  Staff counselor Joanne Cook MFCC hosted the session.

There were good questions and we even got one person to volunteer to become our Activities Coordinator! Keep an eye on the newsletter in case we do end up with some LifeRing picnics or bike trips or bowling or sailing!

An estimated one third to one half of the audience participants had attended at least one LifeRing meeting! Three of us presenters then went into the 7:30 p.m. LifeRing meeting bringing some of the people from the Education Program with us and  swelling the meeting size to 16!

All in all, another informative but personalized LifeRing presentation to Oakland Kaiser's CDRP.
