HOLIDAY DISCOVERY


First you open up the door
And come in off the street.
Then you walk across the floor
And take yourself a seat.

You look around at all the faces
And see yourself reflected back.
You see the lousy hiding places.
You see the booze, the weed, the crack.

In all you learn, you are amazed,
To hear your story told.
To hear it so wonderfully phrased
And, in awe, watch it unfold.

To find, in this, we're not unique -
That we are not alone.
To find the calm that we all seek
And the future's not set in stone.

To find that others care for us,
To find we have some worth,
To find love, tranquility and purpose
Is truly our peace on earth.
