LIFE

I look on down the road of life
And sometimes all I see,
Are all the problems of the past,
Staring back at me.

Just about the time I think
That everything's all right,
Some small forgotten detail
Decides it's going to bite.

Then I'm sure I have the handle
On all I need to do
To keep my life in order
But then there's something new.

One minute I'm riding sure and high
And the next I'm shot down low.
One day I'm warm and fuzzy
And the next I'm chin deep in snow.

One week I'm good at all I do
And everything is mellow.
The next I trip on my own feet -
I'm a very inept fellow.

I didn't know what to call it -
This ebb and flow and strife
Until I finally understood
That what it is - is life.

So life is for the living,
Of which, I damn well am.
And life is where I want to be -
Get ready, get set - - - - WHAM!
